The basics

  • Additional cardholders. It's possible to set up additional cardholders, but at a cost of $29 p.a. This fee is waived for the first year. By comparison, Amex mostly allows free additional cardholders.
  • Digital wallets. Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay are all compatible.
  • Gambling transactions. This card cannot be used for to pay for gambling.

Rewards and benefits

  • Complimentary travel insurance. Unfortunately, this card does not come with complimentary travel insurance cover.
  • Concierge services. The American Express David Jones credit card does not come with access to a concierge service.
  • Insurances. Comes with purchase protection and the Amex fraud protection guarantee against fraudulent transactions.
  • Rewards points. Use the American Express David Jones Credit Card to earn 3 points for every $1 spent into the Membership Rewards program on eligible purchases. Qantas Frequent Flyer members can earn 1 Membership Rewards point for every $1 spent with Qantas Frequent Flyer. Spend with government bodies, balance transfers, and cash advances, annual fees, interest, traveller's cheques, and foreign currency are not eligible transactions for earning points.
  • Sign up bonus. Earn $200 back when you apply online by 29 June 2022, are approved and spend $1,500 at locations excluding David Jones on your new Card within the first three months. Available to new David Jones American Express Card Members only.

Rates and fees

  • Annual fee. This card's annual fee is $99.
  • Balance transfers. There is no balance transfer offer on this card at this time.
  • Cash advances. Cash advances will be charged interest at the cash advance interest rate of 20.74% p.a.
  • Foreign exchange fee. All purchases made in a foreign currency will incur a 3% foreign transaction fee.
  • Interest-free period. The American Express David Jones Credit Card has up to 44 days interest-free on purchases when you've paid off your previous balance on time. There is no interest-free period on cash advances.
  • Purchases. The American Express David Jones Credit Card does not have an introductory offer on purchases. The standard interest rate is 20.74% p.a.
