The basics

  • Additional cardholders. You can get additional cardholders on the Purple Visa card at no extra cost.
  • Digital wallets. Unfortunately, this card cannot be used with Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay.
  • Gambling transactions. Gambling transactions are treated as cash advances.

Rewards and benefits

  • Complimentary travel insurance. The Purple Visa Card does not come with complimentary international travel insurance.
  • Concierge services. There is no credit card concierge service available.
  • Insurances. This card does not come with any additional insurance benefits.
  • Rewards points. The Purple Visa Card offers a rewards program called Purple Dollar, which allows cardholders to earn 1 Purple Dollar point per $150 spent on domestic purchases. There are no higher points-earning tiers above the base rate and no cap for how many points can be earned. Purple Dollars can be redeemed at participating stores: Noel Leeming, Torpedo7, TheMarket, The Warehouse, and Warehouse Stationery.
  • Sign up bonus. There is no sign up bonus for the Purple Visa Card.

Rates and fees

  • Annual fee. The annual fee for this card is $55 p.a.
  • Balance transfers. This card does not currently offer a balance transfer offer.
  • Cash advances. You'll want to avoid cash advances since they will be charged interest at the rate of 25.90% p.a. with no interest-free period. There will be a one-off fee in addition to the interest, making it an all-round expensive transaction.
  • Foreign exchange fee. All purchases made in a foreign currency will incur a 2% foreign transaction fee. This is around the average for most credit cards.
  • Interest-free period. Offers up to 55 days interest-free on purchases (except cash advances) when you have paid your previous balance in full or made the minimum required payments.
  • Purchases. The Purple Visa Card offers a 12-month interest-free period on purchases of $250 and over. Otherwise, purchases made with this card will be charged interest at 22.90% p.a. There are also long-term interest-free options for larger purchases.
