About our credit score service

Updated 21 Sep 2020

How much does it cost to get my credit score?

Nothing. Zero, zip, zilch. It’s a free service brought to you courtesy of Finty Australia.

Why do I need to know my credit score?

By monitoring your credit score, you can get an idea of whether your credit card or loan application is likely to be approved. If your score is near the top of the scale used by a particular bureau, your application is more likely to be approved. Conversely, having a low score means that you may need to take some active steps to improve your score before applying. Every rejected application can further damage your score.

Is it safe to get my credit score?

Yes. Your data will be handled, and your score given, by Experian. Both Finty Australia and Experian take a very serious approach to your privacy. Getting your credit score is also a proactive safety step, since it can help bring to light instances of identity theft.

Will getting my credit score affect my credit rating?

No. Your application for your credit score is not recorded on your credit file.

How is my credit score accessed?

Your credit score will be accessed by Experian and it will be shown in your Finty Australia account.

What details will I need to provide to get my credit score?

Your name and current address, your date of birth and your driving licence number. If you've been at your current address for less than three years, you'll need to supply your previous address.

How quickly will I get my credit score once I request it?

Normally in a matter of seconds, depending on the speed of your internet connection.

What do you do with my personal information?

Your private information is secured and retained so you can come back and access your score again. For more information, please read our privacy policy.
