    The basics

    • Additional cardholders. You can request to add up to 4 additional cards for free. The main account holder must manage the credit limit, repayments, etc.
    • Digital wallets. You can use this card with the main digital wallets including Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay.
    • Gambling transactions. Gambling transactions are allowed on this card. However, these may be classified as cash advance and therefore attract a higher interest rate.

    Rewards and benefits

    • Complimentary travel insurance. This card does not come with international travel insurance.
    • Concierge services. Cardholders do not get access to a concierge service, which is not unsurprising.
    • Insurances. Extended warranty insurance, fraud protection, international travel insurance, interstate flight inconvenience, personal item theft cover, price protection insurance, purchase protection insurance, and transport accident insurance are not available on this card.
    • Rewards points. The Australian Unity Low Rate Visa Credit Card is not linked with a rewards program. This is not uncommon for a cheap no-frills credit card such as this.
    • Sign up bonus. Since this card is not linked with a rewards program, there is no sign-up bonus on offer.

    Rates and fees

    • Annual fee. The annual fee for this card is $59, charged annually. There are cards with similar features with no annual fee that you may consider instead of this one.
    • Balance transfers. It isn't possible to make a balance transfer with this card. There are many other balance transfer cards available, if that's what you are looking for.
    • Cash advances. The cash advance rate for this card is 18.99% p.a. If you use the card to withdraw cash, you will also be charged an additional one-off fee.
    • Foreign exchange fee. A 3% foreign currency conversion fee applies to transactions made in a foreign currency such as those while travelling overseas or while shopping online with an international store.
    • Interest-free period. Get up to 45 days interest-free on purchases when you pay the total balance off each month by the payment due date.
    • Purchases. The Australian Unity Low Rate Visa Credit Card has no introductory offer on the purchase interest rate. Purchases made with the card will attract interest at the rate of 9.90% p.a., which is lower than many competing low-rate cards.
