    • Affordable interest rates: The Bank First Visa Platinum Credit Card comes with a very affordable purchase, and balance transfer at 9.59% p.a.
    • New customer balance transfer rate: There is no special balance transfer rate on this card at the moment.
    • Annual fee: $99 and no other ongoing fees.
    • Credit limits: Minimum $6,000; maximum $10,000.
    • Additional cardholders. You can request up to 4 additional cardholders at no extra cost. You will be liable for their entire spending if you do add additional cardholders.
    • Digital wallets. Bankfirst supports Apple Pay and Google Pay.
    • Gambling transactions. Gambling transactions are not permitted with this card.

    • Exclusive Visa Platinum Entertainment offers. The Bank First Visa Platinum Credit Card unlocks a range of discounts including airport lounges, car rentals, and hotels.
    • Concierge services. Bankfirst Visa Platinum Credit Card holders get 24/7 access to a concierge service that can help with travel planning, gift delivery, restaurant reservations, etc.
    • Complimentary travel insurance. This card has complimentary international travel insurance. Eligible trips are described on the bank’s website.
    • Use it anywhere: The Visa Platinum Credit Card can be used from almost any place in Australia and more than 24 million merchants worldwide where the Visa logo is displayed. Use it over the phone or the internet, including with BPAY or BPAY View to pay bills online.
    • Rewards points. This credit card does not have a rewards program.
    • Sign-up bonus. No signup offer is available for this card at this time.

    Rates and fees

    • Annual fee. The Bank First Visa Platinum Credit Card has an ongoing annual fee of $99 p.a.
    • Purchases. Purchases on this card will be charged 9.59% p.a. This is one of the lowest purchase rates you will find out there.
    • Balance transfers. The balance transfer rate for the BankFirst Visa Platinum Card is 9.59% p.a. You can use up to 100% of your credit limit for balance transfers. Personal loans are not considered.
    • Cash advances. Borrowing with this card attracts a cash advance rate of 19.59% p.a. The cash advance fee is 2.5% of the cash advance amount.
    • Foreign exchange fee. A 2.5% foreign transaction fee applies to purchases made while you’re overseas or with an online store overseas.
    • Interest-free period. Get up to 55 days interest-free on purchases when you pay off your previous balance in full or make the minimum required payments.
    • Late payment fee. $20.
    • Minimum monthly repayment: 5% or $20.

    I’ve had this credit card for a decade now and it’s a method of balancing the family finances. I do try my best to pay off each month’s balance in full as most other Aussies do. There has always been sufficient credit available as a backup for my family’s needs.
