The basics
- Additional cardholders. You can add up to 4 additional cardholders for $15 each. All the account holders will be jointly responsible for managing the account and repayments.
- Digital wallets. This card supports Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay.
- Gambling transactions. Gambling transactions are not permitted on the BOQ Blue Visa Credit Card.
Rewards and benefits
- Complimentary travel insurance. This card does not come with complimentary international travel insurance.
- Concierge services. The BOQ Blue Visa Credit Card does not offer a concierge service.
- Insurances. Cardholders get fraud protection, purchase protection insurance, and price protection insurance.
- Rewards points. The BOQ Blue Visa Credit Card offers 1 Q Rewards point for every eligible dollar spent in Australia. Points can be redeemed for flights, hotels, gift cards, and other rewards. Points are not capped and do not expire.
- Sign up bonus. Bank of Queensland does not offer any sign up bonus for this card.
Rates and fees
- Annual fee. The annual fee for this card is $60 p.a., which is quite cheap for a rewards card.
- Balance transfers. The Bank of Queensland Blue Visa Credit Card offers a 0% balance transfer for 20 months and an 80% balance transfer limit. There is no fee for the balance transfer. Any remaining balance left after 18 months will revert to the standard cash advance rate.
- Cash advances. When you use your BOQ Blue Visa Credit Card for cash advances, you'll be charged interest at 21.74% p.a., starting from the day you make the withdrawal. When making a cash advance with this card, a one-off fee of 3.5% will be charged in addition to the interest rate.
- Foreign exchange fee. Purchases made online or while travelling overseas in a foreign currency will be subject to a 3.4% foreign transaction fee.
- Interest-free period. With the BOQ Blue Visa Credit Card, you can enjoy up to 44 days interest-free on purchases, excluding cash advances, when you pay off your balance on time or make the minimum required payments.
- Purchases. With no introductory offer on purchases, the ongoing interest rate of 20.74% p.a. will apply to any purchases made with the BOQ Blue Visa Credit Card.

Quite happy with this card and rewards offered

We have this card in case of emergency. It gets used for Internet purchases, which comes in handy as I use it for my partner’s work. It is handy when away from home and need that little bit of extra money to fall back on. It is useful to pay for hotel and motel rooms when you need to pay ahead.

When I received this card it was like others until I lost my cards, went into the bank they immediately had me ready to receive another card and ensured that savings card lost immediately replaced. I travel overseas I the statements are accurate and easy to follow where I shopped.

They have great rates and are always willing to help anyway they can. They were very quick to approve me and it doesn’t send me broke paying interest. I always get a person to talk to and they are very helpful. I have recommended Bank of Qld to anyone who has asked me which bank to switch to.
Rewards add up pretty quickly

It is easy to apply by going into a branch or by calling, because there aren’t too many branches out there. I use my points all the time to get shopping vouchers, which is pretty handy. It is easy to pay off as well. The credit card probably doesn’t have the best interest rate though.

I have only recently started using my BOQ Blue Card and it has been super easy. I’ve managed to cover all my bills and debts and been able to pay back everything within the 44 days interest-free period. I am concerned about going over the 44 days interest-free period as fees are high and the yearly fee is quite high
