Who owns illion?
Illion, formerly known as Dun & Bradstreet Australia, is a privately held equity-backed company owned by Archer Capital, a Sydney-based private equity firm.
In 2014, illion launched Credit Simple to provide consumers with free access to their illion credit score.
Are they a legit service?
illion is a legitimate service and, along with Equifax and Experian, are considered one of Australia’s main credit reporting bureaus.
How much does it cost?
Although they heavily promote Credit Simple for consumers, you can still register with illion and get your score for free.
What ID is required to sign up?
You’ll be required to provide your full name, your date of birth, and information on current and past addresses. You’ll also need to provide at least one form of ID to access your account, such as your passport or your driver’s licence.
How often can you check?
Once you’ve signed up for an account, you can check your score as often as you want or need to.
What do you get in your illion credit report?
As part of your illion credit report, you’ll receive a simple score and some basic information about what is affecting it (missed payments, etc.).
Do they have a mobile app?
There is no illion credit score app, but you can log in and check your score using a mobile web browser.
Note that Credit Simple do have an app for both iOS and Android. Instead of a simple overview of your credit score, this app is geared towards money tracking, budgeting, and spending insights.
Does using illion affect your credit score?
Checking your illion credit score will not affect it. Much like other credit reporting services, illion only leaves a soft search on your file when you sign up.

Yes. You can buy a range of company credit reports via illion Express such as the "Risk of Late Payment Report" and "Risk of Failure Report". These are available for any registered Australian company.

Credit scores are grouped into specific bands, which are as follows:
- Excellent: 800 - 1,000
- Great: 700 - 799
- Good: 500 - 699
- Room for improvement: 300 - 499
- Low: 1 - 299
- Zero: Indicative of defaults, CCJs, or bankruptcy on your file.
