    • Gambling transactions. Gambling transactions are not allowed with this card.

    Rates and fees

    • Annual fee. There is an ongoing annual fee of $49 p.a. This is about average for a card of this type.
    • Balance transfers. Transfer debt from other credit and store cards at the standard ongoing rate of 11.99% p.a. This is not competitive since there are many credit cards with introductory interest-free balance transfer offers.
    • Cash advances. Cash advances will incur interest at 11.99% p.a., which will accrue from the transaction date. There is a one-off fee of 2.5% on any cash advances in addition to the interest rate. This cash advance offer is quite competitive.
    • Foreign exchange fee. A 3% fee will be charged for any purchases made online or overseas in a foreign currency.
    • Interest-free period. Get up to 55 days interest-free on purchases (except cash advances) when your account balance is paid in full, or the minimum required payment has been made.
    • Purchases. There is no introductory offer on purchases, so the ongoing interest rate of 11.99% p.a. will apply should a purchase be carried over. Although not the cheapest rate, it is lower than what's on offer with many competing cards.

    My card, my lifesaver

    Reviewed by Di Murphy

Four years ago I found myself a single mother with little income and an unstable future. Finding permanent work was very difficult, resulting in me taking a lot of casual work. As a result my cashflow was not always regular and providing my son with quality meals consistently would have proven difficult without the use of this card. Few institutions would help due to the instability of my income, but the Newcastle Permanent Value+ Credit Card came to my rescue.
