What’s different about the way Bendigo Bank calculates credit card interest?

Bendigo Bank’s credit card interest charging method is more lenient than that of most banks, in two ways:

  • If the account balance is not paid off in full, interest is charged from the statement date (the end of the billing cycle) not from each purchase transaction date (which could be up to 30 days earlier).
  • Interest is charged on the remaining balance only, not on every purchase transaction occurring during the month. That is, part payments are taken into account and no interest is charged on that part of the balance cleared by a partial payment.
