As a congresswoman, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) has a demanding job that requires her to be "on call 24/7."
Despite the hectic schedule, her balanced daily routine helps her stay focused and contributes to her growing success.

AOC wakes up at 7 or 8 a.m., depending on how late she worked the night before. Trying to break the habit, Ocasio-Cortez still checks her phone for urgent messages or notifications.
According to CNBC, Alexandria uses her stovetop coffee maker, called a “greca,” to boost her day, or prepares a matcha tea drink with frothed milk. For breakfast, she eats toast with nut butter or has a smoothie.
With breakfast taken care of, it’s time to pamper her skin with her morning routine (a vitamin C serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen).
Good hydration is important to her. “The most important part of my morning routine has been drinking water. I like to put some lemon in my water, and I try to drink it pretty slowly and mindfully,” she says.
Around nine or 9:30 a.m., Ocasio-Cortez walks to work.
AOC’s afternoons are filled with back-to-back meetings, committee hearings, and other official duties.
Despite the nonstop schedule, AOC maintains a flexible mindset and allows breaks whenever possible. She also tries to escape the office and get fresh air during the day.
In the evenings, AOC usually wraps up work by 6 p.m., although she admits that she often finds herself working late into the night.
Cortez is known to be a “night owl.” She uses this time to think and solve problems. After a long day, she unwinds by watching reality TV and getting a good night’s sleep, intending to hit the hay by 11:30 p.m. or midnight.
