How did Michael McIntyre build his net worth?
After dropping out of university, he followed in his father´s footsteps by writing scripts.
In 2003, he was nominated for the Perrier Best Newcomer Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, which is when his career as a comic, and his earnings, really took off. The timing was perfect. He had just married Kitty. They were living in a one-bedroom flat and had been struggling to pay for their wedding and honeymoon, which had cost £10,000.
He got a new agent and started to fill bigger venues. When he appeared on "Live at the Apollo" his career got another boost. He released his first DVD after appearing again in 2008 and 2009. At that stage, the venues he filled got bigger and he started to appear on comedy panel shows.

In 2011, the accounts for his media company Buddywaldo showed a profit of £1 million, with a bank balance of £1.6 million.
By 2012, Michael McIntyre was one of the highest-paid comedians in the world. He was packing out venues wherever he went and earning a lot from doing so. For example, "The Daily Mail" reported that he had earned £21 million (gross) from his 18 month-long world tour.
McIntyre holds the record for the most seats sold at the O2 arena.
In 2020, Michael did a deal with Netflix to make "Showman". How much he earned from this has not been revealed, but stars like Ricky Gervais are rumoured to have been paid £30 million to record a single program for the streaming platform.
In addition to the above Michael is still adding to his net worth in other ways.
He has already released three instalments of his memoirs, all of which have sold well and are, therefore, likely to be generating significant royalties. His DVDs are also still popular, selling more than 5 million copies in the UK alone.
As far back as 2013, Michael was paid £30,000 for hour-long appearances at corporate events. Now, he commands much more for his public or corporate appearances.
Michael is also making money from property. His 8-bedroom Hampstead home, which he bought for £3.2 million in 2009, is now valued at around £10 million due to growth in the market and home improvements he has made.
