Early life
Anderson was born on July 1, 1967, in Ladysmith, British Columbia, Canada. Her parents were Barry Anderson, a furnace repairman, and Carol, a waitress. Having been born on the 100th anniversary of Canada’s official founding (via the Constitution Act, 1867), Anderson received press coverage right after her birth as a “Centennial Baby.”
She has a younger brother, Gerry, who is an actor and producer. In 2014, Anderson publicly revealed that she suffered sexual abuse as a child. She said she was molested by a female babysitter from ages 6 to 10, raped by a 25-year-old man when she was age 12, and gang-raped by her boyfriend and six of his friends when she was 14—not the expected beginnings of a model who went on to become an internationally known sex symbol.
Education
In her early years, Anderson attended Highland Secondary School in Comox, British Columbia, graduating in 1985. While at Highland, she joined the school volleyball team. In 1988, Anderson moved to Vancouver and started her career as a fitness instructor.
The following year, in 1889, she got a chance to appear as the cover girl in “Playboy” magazine’s October issue and was then chosen as “Playmate of the Month” for the February 1990 issue. These early appearances for Playboy kick-started her Hollywood career.
Family life
Anderson’s married life has not been rosy. On February 19, 1995, she married her first husband, Motley Crew drummer Tommy Lee. The couple had only dated for four days when they exchanged vows on a beach, with Anderson in a white bikini. Her mother learned of the development from “People” magazine. The union bore them two children, Brandon Thomas and Dylan Jagger, before divorcing in 1998. Lee was arrested for spousal abuse and was sentenced to six months in the Los Angeles County Jail.
Later, Anderson was engaged to Marcus Schenkenberg (a model), but they broke up in 2001. She was then engaged to the singer Kid Rock. The two broke up in 2003 but then married in 2006. Later in the same year, Anderson filed for divorce from Kid Rock in Los Angeles County Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences.
In September 2007, Anderson stated on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” that she was engaged. One month later, Anderson married Rick Salomon in a small wedding ceremony at The Mirage. The couple separated on December 13. In February 2008, she requested through the courts that the marriage be annulled, citing fraud. The couple remarried, but Anderson filed for divorce in February 2015 and finalized the process in April 2015.
After the divorce, Anderson began dating French footballer Adil Rami in 2017. Two years later, through an Instagram post, Anderson declared that the relationship with Rami was over. On January 20, 2020, Anderson allegedly married Hollywood producer Jon Peters. Their relationship lasted only a few days; she later revealed they had never been married.
