Tom Brady’s football career began in college when he played for the University of Michigan from 1995 to 1999. He set records for the most pass attempts and completions in a season, totaling 214.
Coming out of college, he was only lightly regarded as a prospect, as his NFL Scouting Combine was relatively unimpressive. In his sixth round, however, he was selected for the NFL Draft by the New England Patriots in 2000. From there, his career blossomed. He has become one of the most famous football players of all time, and his net worth proves it. He played quarterback for the Patriots for his first 20 seasons, the most played by any NFL quarterback with a single franchise.
In 2020, he switched teams to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he remains a star quarterback.
Brady has set virtually every quarterback record throughout his career, including completions, passing yards, games started, and touchdown passes. He also holds the record for the most Pro Bowl selections. In addition, he has never had a losing season and is the NFL leader in career quarterback wins, regular wins, quarterback playoff wins, and Super Bowl MVP awards. Brady is the only player who has earned MVP status for two franchises and is the only quarterback to win the Super Bowl over three decades.
Other notable accolades include being the oldest NFL MVP at age 40, the most senior Super Bowl MVP at age 43, and at 44, he was the quarterback chosen for the Pro Bowl. In 2019, he was selected for the 100th Anniversary All-Time Team.
In early 2022, Brady announced his retirement only to reveal that he had reversed his decision and would play with the Buccaneers for the 2022 season.
In 2006, Tom Brady split with his longtime girlfriend Bridget Moynahan, and the following year, she gave birth to their son, John, making Tom a first-time father. He started dating supermodel Gisele Bündchen, and in 2009, the two wed. She gave birth to their son, Benjamin, in December of 2009, and in 2012, the couple welcomed their daughter, Vivian.
Here’s a snapshot of a day in the life of football legend Tom Brady.
Mornings
Tom Brady rises with the sun at around 5:30 or 6:00 a.m. daily. Upon waking up, he drinks about 20 ounces of electrolyte-infused water, a healthy, high-fat, high protein, high-calorie smoothie, which usually contains seeds, nuts, bananas, and blueberries. He then showers, gets ready for the day and is enjoying breakfast with his family by 7:00 a.m.
Starting at around 8:00 a.m., Brady starts training. Typically, he begins with a pre-workout massage. This helps prepare his body for an intense workout that involves strength training and conditioning.
After his workout, he has another massage, which flushes out lactic acid buildup and improves his muscle recovery. When strength training is done, he’ll hit the beach at about 10:00 a.m., and then at about 11 a.m., he’ll review game footage.
Afternoon
At about noon, Tom has lunch. The menu varies and depends on the time of year and whether he has a game coming up.
While he always aims to eat healthily, during football season, he mainly eats dark leafy greens, legumes, whole grains, and a small amount of grass-fed meat.
On game days, meals are more basic and usually consist of a smoothie and an almond butter and jelly sandwich.
Brady will hit team practice during football season from about 3 to 5 p.m. In the off-season, he trades practice for surfing and workouts on his own.
Evening
Brady usually starts his evening with pliability sessions. These sessions can include massage, chiropractic work, and foam rolling to prevent his muscles from tightening up.
At around 6 p.m., he meets up with his wife and kids to enjoy a family dinner. Meals vary, and while he enjoys a good burger and a sweet treat, such as dark chocolate, he usually sticks to healthy dishes. Even his chocolates are vegan, low-sugar, and gluten-free. He often opts for plant-based avocado ice cream with cacao.
Following dinner, Brady will review games and strategize with his coach. He may also do some charity work.
By 7:30, he meets up with the family again for quality time, including reading to his little ones. Then, by around 8:30 p.m., it’s lights-out for the Brady family.
